SPECIAL MEETING

 

Council Chamber:

 

     Mayor Burzichelli presided at the Special Meeting of Council held on the above date and place.

 

     Borough Clerk VanScoy read the opening statement regarding the Open Public Meetings Act.

 

     Members present were:  Haynes, Giovannitti, Hamilton, Kidd, Morina, Tedeski.  Absent:  None.

 

     Mayor Burzichelli opened the floor to the public.

 

     There wasn’t any public participation.

 

     Mayor and Council discussed the 2010 budget.  It was introduced on June 1, 2010 at 16 cents and it is presently at 15.2 cents.  Auditor Petroni joined Mayor and Council in this discussion at 6:00 p.m.

 

     Mayor and Council recessed at 6:33 p.m.

 

     Mayor and Council reconvened at 6:43 p.m.

 

     Council President Haynes suggested taking ˝ cents out of surplus and cut Fire or find another ˝ cents.

 

     Mayor Burzichelli stated the average increase is $9.04 per month or $108.50 per year.  At Council President Haynes’ suggestion it would take it to just under $100.00 per year.  He asked if anyone else had any other suggestions.

 

     Auditor Petroni stated Council could not take action at the Regular Meeting on adopting the budget but Council would have to hold the public hearing and then table the budget until the State reviews the budget.

 

     There wasn’t any further Special Meeting business.

 

     Haynes moved and Hamilton seconded to adjourn the Special Meeting at 6:48 p.m.  All were in favor of the motion.
