ANNUAL REORGANIZATION AND
REGULAR MEETING
Council Chamber:
Mayor Burzichelli presided at the annual reorganization and
first regular meeting of Council held on the above date and place.
The opening prayer was given by Rev. Frazier of the Second
Baptist Church.
Mayor Burzichelli asked all those present to join in the
salute to the flag, which was conducted by Borough Clerk VanScoy.
Mayor Burzichelli called the meeting to order and read the
opening statement regarding the Open Public Meetings Act.
Members present were: Haynes, Giovannitti, Hamilton, Kidd,
Morina, Tedeski.
Freeholder Deputy Director Robert Damminger Officiated the Swearing In of Larry Haynes, Sr. as Councilperson as well as Elsie Tedeski as Councilwoman.
Mayor Burzichelli presented a proclamation to Peter Limanni’s
family honoring Mr. Limmani, who has passed away. He formally read the proclamation into the record and thanked the
family for attending the meeting.
Giovannitti moved and Hamilton seconded to nominate Councilman
Haynes as President of Council. Roll Call: Giovannitti, Hamilton, Haynes, Kidd,
Morina, Tedeski. Nays: None. Motion carried.
Mayor Burzichelli opened the meeting to the public.
There wasn’t any public participation.

MAYOR AND COUNCIL REPORTS:
Councilwoman Tedeski thanked everyone who supported Council President Haynes and herself. She will do the best to uphold the oath. She also thanked the volunteers and a special thank you went to Virginia Scott as she stepped down as the President of the Chamber of Commerce. She also thanked her mom.
Council President Haynes thanked everyone for coming to the meeting, thanked the residents for supporting him, and thanked his family and especially the members of Council for nominating him Council President.
Councilman Giovannitti wished everyone a Happy New Year and congratulated Council President Haynes and Councilwoman Tedeski. He thanked the Police Department, the Water and Sewer Department, the Street and Highway Department, the office employees and the Administrator.
Councilman Giovannitti stated the Borough is looking into purchasing their own equipment to collect the trash. The Borough will need a lot of community support. He thanked the residents for coming to the meeting and wished everyone a blessed 2007.
Councilman Morina wished everyone a Happy New Year. He congratulated Council President Haynes and Councilwoman Tedeski. He wished everyone a safe and healthy 2007.
Councilman Hamilton wished everyone a Happy New Year and stated this year will be a challenging year. He congratulated Council President Haynes and Councilwoman Tedeski.
Councilman Kidd wished everyone a Happy New Year. He stated 2006 was a trying time. He thanked Borough Clerk VanScoy for nominating him for the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Elected Officials Hall of Fame for 20 years of service as an elected official.
Councilman Kidd stated there were about 200 children that attended the Recreation Committee annual Christmas Party. It means a lot to the children as well as to him.
Councilman Kidd further stated that this year will be a trying time for Mayor and Council at Budget time.
Mayor Burzichelli stated he was remiss for not having a Moment of Silence for former President Gerald Ford.
At this time, Mayor Burzichelli asked for a Moment of Silence for President Gerald Ford.
Mayor Burzichelli stated everyone should take a moment to review the Borough’s website. There may be a public referendum for the budget. He thanked Rev. Frasier and the Borough employees. He further wished everyone a Happy New Year.
The closing prayer was conducted by Rev. Frazier of
the Second Baptist Church.
